Form W-2G: Your payer’s SSN is incorrect or does not match what is currently on file with the IRS. 

 

Fix #1: Sign into your RapidTax account to double check that the SSN you entered for your payer matches what they reported on your issued W-2G. If not, you can update the payer’s SSN right from your rejection status page. Then resubmit your return for filing.

 

Fix #2: Your payer might have reported the incorrect SSN on your issued W-2G and to the IRS. You can contact the payer for the correct SSN to report. Then, sign into your RapidTax account, enter the correct SSN from your rejection status page and resubmit for filing.
