The SSN and last name of the qualifying child reported on your return for the earned income credit (EIC) do not match what is currently listed in the IRS e-file database and Social Security Administration (SSA).

 

Fix #1: Sign into your RapidTax account to double check the SSN and last name you entered are correct. If not, you can update the information from your rejection status page. 

 

Fix #2: If the information you have already entered is correct to the best of your knowledge, then you may need to paperfile your return this year. You should also contact the Social Security Administration to update their database.
